Drug Screening

Mega Group Online provides a cost-effective, efficient, and innovative drug screening program for several industries. Employers frequently implement a drug testing program in order to protect the health and well being of their employees and to prevent business risks associated with drug-induced decisions. Alcohol and drug abuse can create significant safety and health hazards which can cause a decrease in productivity and lead to additional costs.

Many private industries implement a drug testing program to detect possible substance abuse in the workplace. Workers of the aircraft, railroad, mass transit vehicles, pipeline, commercial motor vehicles, and shipping industries are required by the Department of Transportation (DOT) to be regularly tested for drug use.

Mega Group Online offers several DOT and non-DOT drug screening methods to meet any drug free workplace objective. The testing programs we offer are intended to comply with all Federal, State, and local laws. In order to meet all government requirements, test results are conducted by certified laboratories provided by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and are reviewed and evaluated by a Medical Review Officer.

Testing Methods

Urine

Urine samples are taken from an individual and delivered to the testing lab in a specimen cup. A Urine test can detect drug use primarily within the past week. The results are accurate as well as reliable.

Saliva

Saliva drug tests check for the presence or absence of drugs in human saliva. Saliva testing works best for detecting very recent drug use. These tests are also harder to adulterate than urine tests.

Hair

Hair testing is a process in which hair specimens are analyzed for illegal drugs. Hair Testing offers the longest window of detection and hair specimens can not be adulterated or substituted.

Drug and Alcohol Testing Programs

  • Pre-employment Testing
  • Random Testing
  • Just-cause/Reasonable Suspicion Testing
  • Post-Accident Services
  • Return-To-Duty

Pre-employment:

Pre-employment testing can be a part of the application process before an offer of employment is made. It can also be a part of the hiring process after an offer of employment is made, but before hiring actually occurs (a so-called “conditional offer of employment”). A third reason for Pre-employment Testing is an individual may begin work but passing the drug test is made a condition of employment (i.e., even though the individual is already working, his or her hiring will not become final unless the individual passes the required drug test).

Random Testing:

Random Testing is testing of employees who are chosen on an unannounced, unpredictable basis without advanced notice. Random testing randomly selects employees in a company or particular division to be tested.

Just-Cause:

Just-Cause, probable cause or reasonable suspicion testing is an objective, factual, individualized basis for testing, such as when an employee’s behavior or physical appearance suggests drug use or possession of drugs, or there are other indications of a violation of the company’s substance-abuse prevention policy.

Post-Accident:

Post-Accident is testing of an employee who is involved in an on-the-job accident (vehicle or otherwise) which may have involved human error, and which causes a fatality, a serious injury, or significant property damage.

Return-to-Duty Testing:

Return-To-Duty testing involves a one time test for an employee who has tested positive and has completed the required program for substance abuse in order to return to the workplace.
